"Discovering the Disciplines" workshops are "hands on" workshops in the disciplines of grace that extend over a 6 hour time frame on a Saturday. The pace is quick and all who have participated have reported being greatly motivated and encouraged to pursue a more disciplined life in the graces of God. This same workshop can be presented in two 2 1/2-hour sessions over two evenings (e.g. 6:30 p.m. - 9 p.m. on two weeknights) or, on a Friday evening and a Saturday morning session.
The disciplines of Journaling as a tool for reflection & prayer, Hearing God, Scripture memorization & meditation, Lifestyle Evangelism & Listenting Prayer, receive special focus. Other disciplines such as Accountability Partnerships & Mentoring, Generosity, Service, and Solitude are briefly touched on as time allows.
The workshops are designed to be instructional, practical and interactive in an encouraging and worshipful environment.
Practical help in setting modest & balanced growth goals will be encouraged. Learn about "the training effect" and its application to the dynamics of spiritual growth.
Learn how to recognize the leading of the Holy Spirit without getting flaky.
