Praise for the Discovering the Disciplines Workshop
"Neil Culbertson understands that faith is a gift and a calling. Jesus does not simply offer us a free ticket to heaven; he calls us to be disciples who are being trained in righteousness. Neil's workshop, 'Discovering the Disciplines,' offers biblical wisdom and practical aids for our lifelong training. I highly recommend it for all those who desire to journey well in the paths of God's grace." David M. Rylaarsdam, Phd., Associate Professor of Historical Theology |

"We offered the Discovering the Disciples workshop to our entire student body -- even paying for our students' registration fees and materials. It made for a lively and engaging Saturday. The strength of the 'system' that Neil Culbertson teaches is that it's not so much a system as it is a way of organizing the disciplines that you are finding helpful in your own spiritual development."

" All Christians realize the need for a devotonal life but the fulfillment of that need is elusive because of our failures and lack of discipline. Neil's seminar stimulates a renewed interest in devotional life, teaches the disciplines necessary and makes the realization of that goal seem imminently possible for Christians at all levels of spiritual growth. I heartily recommend that you try it!" Dr. Harry Holwerda, M.D., member |

My name is Pastor Galen Greenwalt. Recently we had Neil Culbertson with us for a weekend workshop on "Discovering the Disciplines." I have been pastoring in Baptist churches for many years and have graduated from both college and seminary. Therefore, I have had many classes and seminars on the disciplines of the faith. Because of that, I wasn't sure that it was necessary to bring in someone to promote the importance of daily disciplines in the spiritual life of our congregation. Even my wife asked me why, since she has been through much training as well in developing spiritual disciplines through these many years. Why bring in someone else to tell our folks what we have already been telling them? Because different people listen to different leaders at different times, that's why. This was that time for us. I decided to bring Neil in to help us with a focus on personal devotion and passion for living the Christian life. I had never met Neil or heard him speak. A lay pastor in our church recommended him, and his recommendation was good enough for me because of our trust relationship. I am very selective about who I let come and share in my pulpit and teach my congregation, so this was a big step for me. However, I trusted the doors that God was opening through his people for this workshop. Again, It's not that we could not do it with the leadership in our own church setting, but there are times when it is important to bring in someone with a unique ability to share with excitement and personal insights that are fresh and new. We did not know what to expect. We had almost 50 individuals present, all with varying backgrounds of spiritual pursuit. Some were new Christians. Some were new to our congregation. Some were old, some young. Some were mature believers, some were still seekers. God really moved in our midst during that workshop. Hearts were open and receptive. God used Neil in a very powerful and rich way to share his heart and love for the Lord. It was a joy to see what happened that day in our church. It seemed like every soul was touched that day, and a renewed vigor for seeking the face of God had begun. Neil is the kind of person that you feel you have known for a long time, even after only spending a day and a half with him. He is open and transparent in sharing his testimony and spiritual walk. He has a special way of communicating with those who come to hear. I highly recommend Neil for a workshop and time of worship for any church that has a heartbeat to develop a more mature core of believers. For His Kingdom, |
